Openings for improvOWOL (that mashup didn’t work as well as I wanted it) with Kimberly Lewis this coming Thursday 7pm to 10pm at 7080 Hollywood Blvd, just East of La Brea.

That’s this coming Thursday.

I’d love to have 8 people, right now we have 4. C’mon,…? People have had great luck with street parking and joy with listening back to the pro recordings from our illustrious Engineer and studio (that happens to record thousands of hours of interactive game voices…) and with Kimberly’s improv techniques to work on character and commitment… I dunno what else to say.

This one-day workshop puts you in the studio with tons of copy and a working professional who wants you to find your strengths, your range, YOUR voice. If you are new to voice-over, you will learn mic techniques and get a feel for what’s it like being in the booth. If you are not so new but not booking, here’s a chance to really play and learn another way to approach copy and your reads.

We will work on commercial scripts that include announcer spots, dialogue, character stuff and those pesky tag lines! There will be a 1/2 hour break for lunch that I will provide so all you need to bring is writing material for taking notes, questions you might have about VO and a willingness to play while working hard.

Mari is a William Morris talent and has been a working voice actor for over 17 years. She’s done hundreds of commercials on radio and TV, including campaigns for McDonald’s and Public Storage right now. Her promo work includes ABC and the Oxygen network. Animation credits include Happy Feet, HBO’s Crashbox, Duckman and many others.
