I find your lack of vowol disturbing.

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Thursdays are back starting on the August 14th. With a pro-engineer, a pro-mic, a pro-studio, pro-actors (like yourself), and pro-guests, it’s a steal at $37 for 3 hours. Just over $12/hour.

So to keep that $12 theme, and as an incentive to get us back in gear, and in collaboration with Jeff Cohen, we’ve come up with a

“PAY $12 GET A FULL DAY JEFF COHEN INTENSIVE, AND A VOWOL IN AUGUST.”

If you are one of the first 5 to RSVP to Jeff’s $12 Sunday intensive (plus Ebook included) saying that VOWOL sent you, and after you attend the Sunday class, you will get one free Thursday VOWOL credit in August, good for the 14, 21st, or 28th). That’s over 8 hours of instruction for $12.

Jeff Cohen teaches Voice. Not voice over. But his approach is uniquely imaginative, meticulously researched, and instantaneously valuable. I want to send people his way for the benefits he and they get, and I would love to get the ball rolling with VOWOL again! See below.

From Jeff:
Sunday, August 3rd, from 10 to 4, I am offering my very popular Voice/Acting Intensive. The price is $12, and this includes an online copy of my much expanded book! I do want to share my approach with you, and can promise that you’ll have a wonderful, inspirational day.
Jeff’s class helped me to finally realize that true emotion lives on the breath, and that by channeling that, I no longer have to work up to emotion, but free it from where it already lives.
Erin Tylskie
Actor

Actors can sometimes be fearful that vocal work will somehow render their work artificial or self-conscious. Jeff Cohen’s approach completely embraces the belief that our voice arises from our instincts, our emotions and our imaginations. My students love his approach.
Jeff Perry,
Co-Founder, Steppenwolf Theater

As a casting director, it amazes me how much actors train for everything but easily for get the importance of the human voice as the most powerful tool and actor has. I give Jeff Cohen a five-star rating as one of the best voice and acting coaches in all of North America. He will help you find your voice, and improve and change the way you approach your auditions and craft. I highly recommend him.
Stephen H. Snyder
Casting Director

Jeff Cohen consolidates his years of experience of teaching Voice to a concise, vivid, and surprisingly clear and dynamic structure. The practical application is instant and transformational. Somewhere between Feldenkrais and Yoga, Jeff’s instruction works.

VOICE AND ACTING INTENSIVE
with Jeff Cohen
As actors, your job is to move an audience emotionally, whether through the media of television, film or theater. In all media, voice and speech are your primary currency. The words you speak must be charged with the engine of emotional content. That’s what people pay you for. To be excited – made to laugh, cry and all things between – to resonate in empathy with whatever your emotional experience is.

There is a primal physicality and power in this, and the source of your voice – a truly beautiful integration of body, emotion, senses, and imagination through the catalyst of focused breathing. You’ll discover that this is not only very natural, but very powerful.

THIS INTENSIVE WILL BE IN 2 PARTS:

From 10 to 12, you’ll experience a full voice warm-up. My approach is unique, discovered over three decades. It’s positive effects will be immediately experienced; readily and easily applicable to your craft.

After a quick lunch, from 12 to 12:45, I’ll work with you one-on-one on short dramatic monologues, applying what you’ve learned in the morning.

My intention for this intensive is clear: I want to share my techniques in acting and in voice with you. I am certain that this will help you book more work, and help immeasurably when you get it.

Check out the warnings, and a swear-infused discount on the link below.
The evolution seems complete — after forcing a “demo” focus on the 6 week Tuesday series, and it just not feeling right, the series has been re-wrapped in a much more accurate and exciting story frame.

Whether or not you have a demo, record from home, or are curious where you stand in the working VO business, here’s a way to measure, and to keep the skills at your  ”bookable” best.
